Like everyone living in Los Angeles, Ewen Wright is a writer, director, and performer …and producer.

He is focused primarily on creating original narrative work for screen and stage that is comedic in nature and inventive in visual style.

Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, he attended Hampshire College where he focused on creative writing, performance, and filmmaking. He received his MFA in Film and Television Production from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts.

His music videos have been featured via Rolling Stone, Spin Magazine, Buzzfeed, Vimeo Staff Picks, Huffington Post, and many independent music blogs. He has received filmmaking awards from The New Mexico Film Office, The Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and numerous film festivals.

His most recent short film, Falling, premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival, and has played both domestic and international film festivals, garnering multiple awards along the way and was distributed on Canal+ and Kanopy.

In 2020, he had the opportunity to work with Mandy Patinkin and Kathryn Grody on a series of Get Out the Vote videos, collaborating with grassroots organizations, the Biden campaign, and Elizabeth Warren. Their efforts resulted in millions of views and thousands of volunteer sign ups across social media platforms, and turning Mandy into a TikTok star.

In addition to his work as a filmmaker, he has also worked extensively as a media educator. He is currently the Owner/EP of That Being Said Productions. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Laurel Butler, and their dog. And 13 million other people.
